A Psalm
In the darkness I feel the push of your Wind.
Your Spirit hovers over the waters of my heart;
Void and chaos.
Your Son calls me “brother”, and I look toward his heading.
Your face shines upon me though I’ve turned my back upon you
Time and time again.
LORD I am a wretched, filthy man whose soul clings desperately to the dust.
Your mercy is more than a gift for every gift has a price.
How could one put a price on the death of Your Son?
A cost so infinite, it could not be understood even by generations of spectators,
Us watchers through the window of Your Word.
We saw Abraham’s test and divulged only one or two layers.
But beyond that lies Your heart.
Oh LORD my God—
The God of my fathers and father from the ancient times—
Reveal to me Your perfect heart.
For I long for nothing more than to know and understand
The Creator of my soul and the Father of my heart.
May Your will be done (Amen).
